Nonprofit Consulting Services

While I no longer primarily work in the nonprofit sector, I continue to keep  a hand in by offering consulting services for new or volunteer-run small community organizations. I typically offer strategic planning facilitation and organizational development and/or fundraising advice. Unfortunately I am only able to accommodate one client at a time at the moment. However, anyone is welcome to direct their organizational development questions my way and I will help if I can.

Since developing and volunteer-run organizations often have very small budgets, I typically offer these services pro bono, although this is on a case-by-case basis depending on the organization's needs and my capacity.

Justice, Equity, Inclusion, Diversity and Allyship Workshops

Allyship Skill Building Workshop
Offered approximately twice a year, 5 hours total divided between 2 sessions

This workshop is designed to give aspiring allies tools to fully examine how their identities position them in any given situation, enabling them to more effectively determine when to step forward and when to step back when practicing allyship.  While anyone can learn something valuable from these materials, the intended audience of this workshop is people who seek to practice allyship by using their privilege and power to effect change.

The content doesn’t offer any silver bullets for what to do in any specific situation but instead focuses on large-scale concepts and tools for self-examination. This workshop is internally focused, with the intention of helping the participants examine their own participation in oppressive systems, as both victim and/or beneficiary. It is not intended to be a source of information about the specific histories or current realities of any particular oppressed group of people, although examples of how different types of oppression play out in our society will be explored as part of the discussions.

I developed this workshop based on what I have learned over the past several years and my previous experience as a facilitator in a variety of contexts. Specifically, I incorporate concepts and tools I have encountered through an intersectional allyship discussion/support group for white women that I have been participating in weekly since 2018. Additionally, I completed a "Train the Trainer" workshop through Cultures Connecting to specifically learn how to facilitate conversations on racism and other difficult topics.
